國際食用菌大會是國際食用菌科技界和產業界規模最大的盛會。大會致力于促進國際食用菌科技交流和合作，推動全球食用菌科技和產業的發展。國際蘑菇學會設有執行委員會，委員來自不同國家和地區，負責歷屆大會的籌備指導工作。
自1950年舉行第一屆國際食用菌大會以來，以后每3-5年召開一次，截至2010年，已經先后在英國、法國、德國、日本、澳大利亞、荷蘭、美國等國家召開了17屆國際食用菌大會，會議代表由第一屆的幾十人發展到2008年第17屆的600人。歷次會議簡況見下表。

第18屆國際食用菌大會將于2012年8月26-30日在北京召開，由國際蘑菇學會、中國農業科學院、中國食用菌協會、中國食品土畜進出口商會聯合主辦，中國農業科學院農業資源與農業區劃研究所承辦。大會將為食用菌科技界和產業界人士提供良好的交流平臺，使全世界的食用菌同行共享食用菌科學研究與技術進步的最新成果。大會的主旨是促進全球食用菌產業的發展，同時展示中國的食用菌產業發展的成果，大會的主要內容包括：⑴產業現狀與發展展望；⑵生產技術；⑶食用菌營養與健康，主要議題包括種質資源及其多樣性、生物化學和分子生物學、遺傳與育種、病蟲害管理與質量控制、市場管理、營養與藥用、菌種制作和栽培技術、菌根菌。
除學術交流外，大會同時舉辦食用菌新品種、新技術、新產品和新書刊展覽，并組織參觀食用菌生產。組委會還設計了多條會后旅游線路供代表們選擇，例如北京的長城、故宮和頤和園等，讓參會代表在收獲學術成果的同時領略光輝燦爛的中華文明。
About the ISMS Congresses
The congress of the International Society for Mushroom Science is a regular forum for the world's mushroom researchers to exchange research results and development activities across all segments of the mushroom industry and promote international communication and cooperation. An executive committee consisting of representatives from different regions of the world gives guidance to the conference planners. Being the top international conference for the mushroom research community and the industry at large, seventeen congresses have been held in different countries since its launch in 1950. The participants have been expanded from dozens of people at the first Congress of the ISMS to 600 at the 17th.

The 18th Congress of the ISMS will be held from August 26th to 30th, 2012 in Beijing. It is hosted by International Society for Mushroom Science (ISMS), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China Edible Fungi Association (CEFA), China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA), and will be organized by Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IARRP, CAAS). The 18th Congress will provide a good platform for the world's edible mushroom peers to share the scientific researches and the latest achievements of technological progress on edible mushroom industry. The main purpose of the 18th Congress is to promote the development of edible mushroom industry as well as to present the latest development of edible mushroom industry in China. The contents include: (I) The development and prospect of industrial situation; (II) Production and technology; (III) Nutrition and Health of edible mushroom. The main topics will consist of germplasm diversity, biochemistry and molecular biology, genetics and breeding, disease, pest and quality control, marketing management, nutritional and medicinal aspects, technology of cultivation and spawn-making, and mycorrhizal mushroom.
Apart from the scientific exchange, we will also showcase new varieties, new products, new technologies and latest publications. Furthermore, post-conference tours to mushroom farms in China and the scenic and/or cultural sites will feature your tour in China, including the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and so on, which will enable the participants not only to gain academic rewards but also to enjoy the splendid Chinese civilization.
